Ferris Apiaries strives to bring an ancient natural remedy known as Bee Venom Therapy into the 21st century by providing both healthy honey bees and an innovative "stingless" solution. It is our goal to provide our products at competitive prices while employing the utmost in customer service. We believe that our customers should be treated as well as we treat our honeybees- with attention and care.

Our business is located on a 200 acre farm in rural Southern Maryland. At any given time, various fauna can bee seen scampering along the fields and running through the woods. More than fifteen years ago, we noticed that many of our smaller animal friends were disappearing and it became clear that the fox were beginning to take over. We began to trap out some of the predatory creatures in attempt to bring our farm's animal life back to an equillibrium to which we were accustomed. Maryland's climate does not always bode well to metal traps and beeswax quickly became a necessesity. So became our first hive. What began as a hobby quickly transcended into a flourishing apiary. By 1990, we had more than 25 hives, and as luck would have it, we met Pat Wagner, otherwise known as "The Bee Lady."

Pat described herself as a breathing corpse. She lacked vitality, was bound to a wheel chair, and nearly blind. She told us her story of how Multiple Sclerosis had crippled her and how she was turning to Bee Venom Therapy to save her life. We saw her months later at an Apitherapy Society meeting and we were pleased to see a remarkable improvement. The color returned to her face, she had more energy, and her spirit seemed revitalized. She asked us one of the most significant questions to date, "Do you think you could mail bees to people that need them for stinging?" Within a year I gave up my job and concentrated on keeping bees full-time in order to meet the need of countless people suffering from various ailments. We now keep nearly 200 hives and ship our honey bees all over the country to hundreds of customers. We are proud to say we have provided well over 8 MILLION stings.

With so many honey bees navigating our farm, being stung is inevitable. However, here at Ferris Apiaries we understand that not everyone is eager to be stung. After many trials and a lot of research, Bees in a Bottle was created in order to satisfy the need for a "stingless" remedy containing the same healing properties as raw bee venom straight from the honey bee.
